The book�discusses how British innovations in irrigation in coastal Andhra in the mid-nineteenth century transformed the economy there from food crops to cash crops, and created new markets for local entrepreneurs. This stimulated increased education and social reform in the region, which in turn supported new politics in search of constitutional concessions. The drive for a Telugu language-based province then arose in concert, and those political resources were then used to determine local patterns down to independence. The 1930s ruse of the socialists, then the communist organisations, was an extension of land and water tax debates, which impacted�the political nature of development ― both before and after ― independence.

This is one of the first books on Andhra that recounts this story and is based on extensive archival research exploring the deep relationships between land, water, language and politics. It would be of primary interest to those studying modern nationalism in India, natural resource management, Indian politics and economic growth.

I ordered this book for my son who is going to do a wax museum project at school. The project requires him to recite information of Abraham Lincoln when someone comes by and presses his button in front of his display. When I told him I ordered a book for him he was a little less then pleased, he is 10 mind you and reading is not quite as fun as baseball. When the book arrived he became more excited and since he has started reading it he hasn't put it down! He just walks around the house saying "hey Dad, did you know....?" I am so glad this book made him excited to read and even happier that he is excited about WHAT he is reading! Shipping was crazy fast, book was wrapped and protected very well, just an awesome job all around, Thanks!

This Big Head Series of children's books are terrific. I particularly enjoyed this book on our beloved 16th President and so will your children! A great introduction to American History. The illustrations are very well done-even though the heads are a bit out of proportion!

Cuantos empresarios, inventores, grandes m�dicos, investigadores se averg�enzan en lo mas profundo de su ser por los logros que son capaces de alcanzar.
Con muchos de los que hablo a diario detecto que tras su aparente autoestima por su talento o capacidad de trabajo se esconde un profundo sentimiento de culpa derivado de sus propios logros de su propio talento. Que locura, enorgullecerte de tu val�a y avergonzarte por tenerla y que sea visible. Avergonzarte por que con tu esfuerzo destacas sobre la abulia general.
Sin embargo es el mas extendido sentimiento entre los hombres productivos.

Good book covering the basics

This is one of the books I used during my college days. You can pass the A&P exam just by studying the sample questions repeatedly. This method, however, is a mere shortcut and you may become a certified A&P with poor knowledge.

As someone has said, "Don't learn the tricks of the trade. Instead, learn the trade". While your progress may appear slower than others during the earlier years, wait to see what happens in the next few years; you would be ahead by doing your homework rather than taking the short cut.

Anything worthwhile takes time, and I've witnessed that neither a corporate nor an individual who's progress is too fast would succeed.

Great used book

This review is more for the merchant (GoodwillSA) than the book. Being a Jeppesen book, some illustrations are wrong and there are typos up the ying yang, but the Jeppesen books are far superior to the FAA 8083 books. I needed this book and there was no way I was going to spend $65 for a new book, so I found this used book for $20. It was exactly as the merchant said, a little wear around the corners and nothing else.

bought this book because BCIT requested us to buy 3 Jeppesen A&P Technician textbooks. (AIRFRAME, GENERAL, and this one) If buying as self-study, check their website and consider the Jeppesen's training system will work for you. If so, buy handbook and test guide books that are sold separately.

Gives me Hope!

Wow, that first review was incredibly harsh. I've read all of the other books/studies mentioned and more, and I found this to be excellent. Short, succinct, to the point, and gives me great hope. Sure there were a few typo errors, but that can happen with a first edition, and most of them were software translation issues. All one has to do is write the author, and corrections are made (and have been made). I appreciated the personal story, one that I could relate to, and both my husband and I appreciated the way that the nutrition plan is laid out in an easy to understand and doable manner. There's no need for shopping lists, millions of recipes or even any more validation of research; there's tons of info out there on the web and in books already. It becomes a personal approach with foods that you can find in your own local markets, foods that you enjoy to create your own simple meals. Healing foods are listed quite plainly as are the inflammatory ones. I've followed many other plans, but this one helps me understand the actual amounts of healing foods that I need and a few other points that are necessary for healing. It also helped me realize my own traps that I fell into previously that stalled my efforts. The work is up to me, and we're all different, but it's great to have a simple guide that spurs me on to keep striving for wellness. I loved celebrating the author's journey/success through her writings and her photos. How refreshing.

I feel like I've been given my life back

After 2 years of crushing fatigue I was diagnosed with active Epstein-Barr. I downloaded your book on Kindle and starting making Green Smoothies according to the plan in your book. I'm not sure how quickly it usually works but I knew after less than two weeks that I am completely healthy head to toe. I get stronger every day. I feel like I've been given my life back. I know this is early along to be sharing, but...you know when you are healthy again.
